Groovy.....

It didn't take long to get back in the groove after the Celebration of Seagrove Potters, but then my life outside pottery kinda sidetracked me. I'm not complaining. Heck, I'd rather spend time with my family and friends any day of the week than work, but those things don't pay the bills. I was so sure I'd have another kiln load out between Thanksgiving and Christmas I would have placed a bet on it. Good thing I'm not a gambler. All I needed was another 4 or 5 (uninterrupted) days and I would have had enough pots to fill up my car kiln. Such is life. I spent part of today making butter trays, one of those kiln filler items it seems like everyone has a need for. Now all I need are some slab plates and small trays, and a few teabowls and I'll have enough pots to load the kiln for a bisque firing. With Slate only in school for 3 more days this week, followed by another 2 week break, and a short trip to the coast inbetween, I don't think I'm gonna wear out my groove any time soon.

I could stand a new butter tray myself. The handle broke on mine years ago. I used it like that for a while, but finally ga"bigga bowl" that she has been asking for for a shrimp-a-roo. Needs to be pretty big!

You sure are getting some work done!
It is a great time to "get ahead". I usually like to throw in Jan. since there are few interuptions- maybe real soon.
Do you need your book back before you leave?

Meredith,
Nah, hang on to it until you find a recipe in there you like. I know where you guys live :-)

Brenda,
I haven't forgotten your buddy.

Hey- Tom I am having fun with bread flour and whole wheat. Mark just had to back away from the loaf before he ate it all.
I am enjoying the book, baking and learning!
Have a great time seeing family this weekend.
